Pope Francis has released his prayer intention for the month of August, which is dedicated to the upcoming World Youth Day in Lisbon, Portugal, 1-6 August.
Its theme is: Mary arose and went with haste from the first chapter of St. Luke’s Gospel. In choosing this theme, Pope Francis was sending an invitation to young people to take the path of joyful witness and loving action on behalf of the Gospel.
Pilgrims from parishes and schools across the Diocese of Parramatta were commissioned and blessed by Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv, Bishop of Parramatta, in front of family, friends and members of their parish and school communities at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Parramatta, on Sunday 16 July.
